FOLLOWING a failed campaign last year to have extended opening hours at Armagh’s Minor Injury Unit at Tower Hill it has been announced that there will be further cuts to opening times.
The Minor Injuries Unit from the end of April will be open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm instead of the current time to 7pm.
And Sinn Féin Councillor Noel Sheridan has expressed concern with the change.
“It is sad to see another cut in this area,just how much do the people of Armagh have to suffer?” said Cllr. Sheridan.
“I would encourage people to continue to use this facility,in order to avoid any further cuts. It provides an essential service to residents, as they are likely to be seen much quicker in their local unit with minor injuries, rather than having to travel to Craigavon hospital with the added pressure experienced there given the workload and overstretched resources.”
