Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £340,000 resurfacing scheme – along a one mile stretch of road between Banbridge and Scarva.
Preparatory work on two sections will get underway this week, with the substantive resurfacing element of work expected to be completed by mid-February.
The two stretches are in the area of Blue Road/Ballyvarley GAA club and also near Drumiller Lane/Fir Tree Lane.
Mr Kennedy said: “This is a significant capital investment, particularly for road users living in the Banbridge and Scarva areas.
“The improvements to the drainage characteristics, structural integrity and surface quality will be appreciated by all road users.”
As with all improvement schemes of this type, to help ensure the safety of road users and contractors, it will be necessary to put in place traffic control, diversions and closures.
Local access will be maintained during the improvements.

Diversions, when required, will be via B3 Loughbrickland Road, B3 Legananny Road and the A1 Belfast Road.
TransportNI says it has carefully planned the works operation and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to road users, but drivers should expect some delays and are advised to leave additional time when travelling in the area.
