A young woman sustained what has been described as a “serious injury” after being struck in the face with glass.
It happened during the early hours on Monday morning.
The victim had been in the Kildare Street area of Newry, close to the Ulster Bank ATM when the incident happened.
The PSNI in Newry and Mourne have appealed for information.
They said: “We know from CCTV there were a large number of folk in the area who may have seen the assault, the lead up to it or who may have assisted the injured lady.
