Apple Mews Care Home is celebrating after its Clinical Manager, Dawn Rhodie, won the Chief Nursing Officer’s Award at the second annual Priory Group PRIDE Awards.
Dawn beat 24 other nominees, out of 15,000 staff across the Group, to win this prestigious award.
Dawn was also recently named Registered Nurse of the Year in the Northern Ireland Independent Care Awards 2014.
Apple Mews is located in Cathedral Road, Armagh. She won the PRIDE award for her commitment, for engaging residents and for maintaining exceptional care standards.
The awards ceremony was hosted by TV personality Phil Hammond and held at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwickshire with 350 guests.
Rosemary Dilworth, General Manager of Apple Mews, who was also shortlisted for the same award, said she was delighted.
“I couldn’t be happier for Dawn. She has excellent leadership skills and has developed numerous programmes which continue to keep Apple Mews as the forerunner in care standards in Northern Ireland,” she said.
“She is an inspiration to all of her colleagues and her dedication has improved the lives of everyone around her. The Chief Nursing Officer Award couldn’t have gone to a more deserving person.”
In addition to the Chief Nursing Officer’s Award, the home is also celebrating with Shauna O’Hare who was shortlisted in the Best Care Category. Shauna was nominated for her outstanding care and compassion which continuously enhances the well-being of residents.
Apple Mews Care Home is run by Amore Care, a division of the Priory Grou,p and provides nursing care for adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex physical disabilities. It runs a variety of programmes to engage residents such as art and music programmes, education, and various outdoor activities.
