An Armagh man will embark on a 120 mile walk in Spain this weekend in a bid to raise money for the Southern Area Hospice.
Stephen McCleary, chair of the Northern Men’s Sheds Network, will leave on Saturday for the week-long expedition along a stretch of the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
With just three days to go, Stephen is hoping to raise £4000 to help Southern Area Hospice and the work it does in directly supporting those living with cancer.
The city man has so far raised a fantastic sum in excess of £1,300 which will bring comfort and help provide care to those who need it most.
And Stephen has set up a Just Giving page and is urging local people to rally round in support of this fantastic cause.
He said: “Everyone knows someone living with cancer because this disease is increasing at an enormous rate.
“When a person has cancer it affects so many – their family and wide circle of friends – that is why it is so important for us to support places like the Southern Area Hospice who do so much to alleviate the suffering that cancer causes.
