Adventure Lights returns to Carlingford – Bigger, brighter, and even more magical!

Carlingford is set to sparkle once again as Adventure Lights returns for its second year at Skypark for 10 weeks!

Carlingford is set to sparkle once again as Adventure Lights returns for its second year at Skypark, running for 10 weeks from October 25 to January 3.

Following the phenomenal success of last year’s debut event, which welcomed over 30,000 visitors and delivered a significant boost to the local economy during the off-peak season, Adventure Lights is back—bigger, brighter, and more enchanting than ever before.

This year’s event invites families, groups, and adventurers of all ages to step into the magical Legends of the Forest, where over 500,000 sparkling lights, 16 dazzling displays, and an expanded kids’ adventure zone will transform Skypark into Ireland’s most unique winter wonderland.

This year, we’ve made the experience even more spectacular with brand-new illuminated figures, so even those who joined us last year will find a completely fresh adventure waiting for them.

As well as new light displays there are new experiences along the trail — from interactive moments, free facepainting for kids to enhanced activities and special surprises for families to discover together.

“We were overwhelmed by the response to last year’s Adventure Lights, and it was incredible to see so many families making memories in Carlingford. This year, we’ve made the experience even more spectacular, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another magical winter adventure.” said Edward Fuller, General Manager.

Along the softly illuminated outdoor trail, visitors will explore interactive zones, illuminated animals, and unique installations that celebrate adventure, legends, and discovery.

Highlights include:

  • Free face painting for kids — adding an extra splash of colour and fun to the evening.
  • Ireland’s Ancient East Maze glowing with illuminated icons to explore.
  • Skynet at Night — a thrilling new way to experience the huge adventure nets after dark.
  • Clues and riddles hidden along the trail to spark curiosity and discovery.
  • The Kid’s zone – a world of suprises where little adventurers can explore, play and let their imagination run wild.
  • Delicious festive treats, from crepes, donuts, and firepit s’mores to pizzas and loaded fries.

Thomas McArdle, CEO McArdle Adventure Group, added:

“Adventure Lights is about more than just dazzling displays — it’s about creating moments that families, friends, and visitors from near and far can share together. Carlingford has always been a place of adventure, and this event allows us to showcase that spirit in a magical new way. We’re proud to see Adventure Lights becoming a highlight of the winter calendar and to play our part in attracting more people to experience everything this beautiful region has to offer.”

The event’s success has already had a lasting impact on the region. Families visiting last year extended their stays in local hotels and restaurants, helping sustain jobs and businesses during the quieter winter months.

With its magical mix of adventure, discovery, and festive atmosphere, Adventure Lights promises to be one of Ireland’s unmissable winter events of 2025—perfect for families, schools, and groups seeking a unique seasonal experience.

Don’t miss the chance to create magical memories this winter in Carlingford while enjoying all the adventures and hospitality the Cooley Peninsula has to offer.

Adventure Lights is proudly supported by Fáilte Ireland and Louth County Council.
