Police have issued an appeal following a serious hit and run incident in Armagh city on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at the Monaghan Road junction – at Mullan’s Spar – involving two vehicles shortly before 9am.
Police Inspector Kerr said: “It was reported that a dark coloured Volkswagen Jetta struck the side of a black coloured Ford Kuga and subsequently failed to stop. The driver of the Ford Kuga was left shaken by the incident and our enquiries are continuing.
“We would appeal to those in the area who may have dashcam footage or information that can assist the investigation to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 333 10/03/22.”

The driver, posting on social media, said she was “very shaken” by the incident.
She explained: “At approximately 8.50am, in front of Mullan’s Spar Shop on the Monaghan Road in Armagh, I was turning right to head out the Keady Road when a navy Volkswagen Jetta, hit my car on the passenger side, mounted the kerb with a wall and pushed past me, to get away.
“The driver sped away out the Keady Road and left me in total shock. There were passengers in this car and the car must have damage on the passenger side after mounting the kerb with the wall.
“This is classed as a hit and run and is serious. I’m appealing to the driver or passengers in the car to come forward…
“Also if you were a driver in the line of traffic at that time, maybe heading to work or on the school run heading onto Irish Street, that seen this taking place.”
