New Armagh auction house perfect way to earn a few Christmas pounds – or bag yourself a bargain

Are you in a panic to raise some cash for Christmas, or trying to pick up some presents on a budget?

Well, Armagh’s new auction house may hold all those answers for you.

It just may be your chance to turn those unwanted dust-gathering items (perhaps even from last year) into some cash for the festive period

Open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday for drop offs at their unit on the Nursery Road, the Armagh City Auctions will have its live debut auction on Tuesday, November 5 at 6pm. It will subsequently run every Tuesday at 6pm.

From furniture and paintings, to surplus stock and vehicles – anything is welcome.

There are even toys and quad bikes up for grabs on the opening night, which may take some pressure off those Christmas present doubts.

Speaking to Armagh I,  owner Barry Boylan said: “It a great way for people to earn a wee bit of funds before Christmas.

“All the feedback has been positive, with people saying it is what Armagh city really needs; the closest one is Scarva or Lurgan.”

Barry said that he himself would frequent these auction houses, also looking for something to buy and sell.

“You really can get the bug, I certainly did, but I would ask anyone to come down whether you’re a seasoned professional or a novice.”

The Armagh man added that he, like others, had their interest in such hobbies by the popularity of shows such as Storage Hunters.

“I am addicted to it; I watch it all the time to see if there is anything I have spotted before and could make a profit on.”

So there may be treasure to be found at the Armagh City Auctions. You can see what is up for grabs on their Facebook page, and if you can’t make it on the night you can even bid from the comfort of your own bed at Easy Live Auction. Follow the link to register.
