An Armagh man has been arrested in relation to alleged child sex offences following an online vigilante group sting earlier this week.
The 40-year-old was detained in Dungannon after being lured to a meet with a decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl.
Members of the self-styled ‘Warriors of Children’ and ‘Northern Ireland Safeguarding Children Online’ groups filmed the ambush on social media.
They questioned the man for approximately 30 minutes before police officers arrived on the scene.
A police spokesperson confirmed to Armagh I that “a man, aged in his forties, was arrested on suspicion of offences including causing or inciting a child between 13 and 16 to engage in sexual activity, in Dungannon on Monday, March 20.”
The spokesperson added: “He was later released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.”
