An Armagh man who assaulted two police officers and was in possession of a baton during two separate incidents will have to wait until next month to hear his fate.
Court heard the 26-year-old had already spent 81 days on remand for one of the matters.
Jody Curry, of Barrack Hill, pleaded guilty to two counts of disorderly behaviour, two counts of assault on police, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and resisting police at the city’s Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Probation had also made an application to revoke an enhanced combination order which the defendant had previously been sentenced to.
Court heard these offences were accrued over two incidents and that the offensive weapon referred to was a baton.
Defence barrister Bobbie Rea stated: “It is pleas to all. The natural inclination would be to get a pre-sentence report but he has spent 81 days in custody on one of these matters.
“Therefore, he would prefer to have this dealt with today if your worship is minded.”
District Judge Peter King ordered a pre-sentence report for August 8.
He said: “Hopefully a global picture can be arrived at in four weeks time.”
The cases will return for sentencing on August 8.
