An Armagh mum is set to take part in a freefalling fundraiser in aid of Lisanally Special Needs School, where her seven-year-old son is a pupil.
Louise McCall, who is taking the leap of faith on August 10, says she is embarking on an “exhilarating journey with a purpose” to help support the school.
She witnesses on a daily basis the care the school offers her son Lachlan and decided now was the time to give back.
To kickstart the fundraising, Louise has set up a GoFundMe donation page, with the overall target being £500.
“I’ve been there with them for four years and I’ve never had an issue whatsoever. They do a lot for Lachlan and go above and beyond”, she told Armagh I.
“Every day, I witness first-hand the incredible dedication and care provided by the staff at Lisanally. From specialized learning programs to compassionate guidance, Lisanally Special Needs School is truly a beacon of hope for families like mine.”
Louise admits however that the school needs fundraising efforts to supplement its resources to provide the best possible education for its pupils.
“That’s why I’ve decided to take to the skies and embark on this daring adventure – to raise funds that will directly benefit my son and his classmates”, she said.
Added Louise: “The funds raised through this skydiving fundraiser will be used to enhance educational resources, invest in specialized equipment, and expand extracurricular activities at Lisanally Special Needs School.
“Whether it’s updating classroom technology, providing therapeutic resources, or organizing inclusive events, every penny raised will make a meaningful difference in the lives of these exceptional children.
“Join me on this incredible journey as we soar through the skies not just for the thrill of adventure, but to ensure that every child at Lisanally Special Needs School has the opportunity to reach for the stars. Together, we can make a profound impact and empower these remarkable students to achieve their fullest potential.”
When asked if she was looking forward to it, Louise simply replied: “I’m not nervous now but I’m sure I will be on the day!”
