Concerns over the taste and colour of tap water in certain parts of Armagh have been allayed by NI Water.
Residents had voiced their concerns to Armagh I earlier this week.
One woman said the water in her home “tasted a bit off” and was concerned by the presence of a large number of NI Water vans in the area.
Another resident pointed out that the colour of water was an issue, stating she was “concerned for the young and elderly who may be drinking this water”.
However, Armagh I reached out to NI Water for answers, and the company did confirm that work in the Edenaveys and Roughfort areas was being carried.
“NI Water were undertaking a proactive programme of flushing in the Edenaveys and Roughfort areas,” said a spokesperson for NI Water.
“The purpose of this was to ensure our customers continue to receive good quality water.
“To date, NI Water has had no enquiries from customers in these areas.
“We would like to thank customers for their cooperation while this work was being carried out.”
