Armagh sex offender facing litany of charges

The defence said that they had not received the papers in relation to a number of the alleged offences

An Armagh man facing a litany of charges including threats to kill, assault and being a sex offender failing to notify police of a change in his address has had his case adjourned for a week.

Paul Joseph Kevin Druse (49) of Newtownhamilton Road, appeared via videolink from Maghaberry before Armagh Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Newry Courthouse on Tuesday (January 9).

He appeared in relation to six cases, with the total charges being: two counts of failing to notify police, threats to kill, threats to damage property, harassment, being a sex offender failing to notify police of a change of address, criminal damage, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, threats to kill, two counts of common assault, possession of an offensive weapon with an intent to commit an indictable offence, two counts of criminal damage, theft and being a sex offender failing to notify police of a change of address.

The defence said that they had not received the papers in relation to a number of the charges.

District Judge Anne Marshall said: “We’re going to take all matters for a week Mr Druse and hopefully then we’ll make progress with at least three of them and hopefully we’ll get the papers for the other three.”
