Armagh’s imagination station, The Little Kingdom has a full summer of affordable fun planned for the entire nine weeks of school holidays!

Owned and managed by husband and wife duo, Stuart and Katie Patterson, The Little Kingdom in Carrickhill Industrial Park first opened its doors to Armagh’s families in September 2024.

The new venture was the third in their repertoire of children’s entertainment centres, having already opened Treehouse Soft Play Centre in Lurgan and their smaller, party-inspired centre, Hive.

Indoor play with a twist, The Little Kingdom offers children a unique chance to learn through play with their various “themed” activity rooms.

With a jam-packed summer of activity – there is an exciting new offering each week!

New School House and Themed Play

They have even created a brand new “Little Kingdom School House” within their centre for those little creative, brainiacs who like to keep the cogs turning.

Of their line-up and new room Katie said: “The Little Kingdom School House has a reading corner, colouring station, tuff tray for sensory and building activities, activity sheets and every week there will be a different theme within that room.

“Alongside that, every week there will be also matching character visits for that theme. For example, we are kicking off with a space week and a spaceman character.

“We are changing something every week so kids continue to be excited to come along week on week throughout the holidays.”

Summer Pass

As parents themselves, Katie and Stuart are acutely aware of the expense in raising children. At all of their entertainment centres they work incredibly hard to keep costs down for parents and so – to access the themed activities – there is no additional charge… it’s all included in the admission cost.

The duo have also created a family-friendly Summer Pass – which has proven incredibly popular across all of their centres.

The Summer Pass guarantees unlimited entry to all weekday sessions throughout the full nine weeks of summer and gives parents 10% off all café prices for the duration of the pass.

It’s priced at £60 for the first child and at £45 for additional siblings thereafter. It’s currently available to buy now but admission starts June 27 and ends August 31.

Activities & Events

On Tuesdays the centre will boast “mascot visits” with many popular children’s characters attending to spend time entertaining the children.

On Thursdays each week there will be arts and crafts and on Fridays it’s the famous free ice-cream day!

Most Saturdays will have an event that matches theme of the week. So for Carnival Week in August they will have a magic show on the Saturday, on Sea Week they will have a mermaid and on Fairy Tales Week they will have a princess brunch.

On alternating Wednesday mornings they will continue to run their toddler mornings and their quiet SEN sessions.

For the summer period they have converted their Vet Station into a wild animal hospital and their grocery shop into a beach shop with buckets, spades and arm bands.

Food Options & Parties

The Little Kingdom continue to offer their popular ‘Picky Paws’ and picnic car lunches for kids and for adults their café provides salads, soups, overnight oats, protein balls, traybakes and freshly baked pastries alongside a host of hot and cold drink options including smoothies, teas, coffees and iced coffees.

They offer exclusive hire of the venue for birthday parties at £300 for 15 children with all food included.

Or they offer normal hire for parties within sessions at £13.95 per child and with the choice of 10 different food options served in their popular picnic cars. All hire also provides a free return pass for the birthday child.

Book in for sessions and birthdays via their website and follow along on Facebook for updates on each week’s events.
