Armagh ladies senior Gaelic football team have made it a double whammy for the county by scooping the Ulster Championship title just one week on from the men’s squad win!
And while it’s monumental news for county football, it’s even more monumental for the ladies team as their third consecutive Championship win in a row.
Calling it a ‘three-peat’, the official Armagh Ladies Gaelic Football (LGFC) page said the squad “just keep making history” on announcement of their May 24 victory.
The game saw Armagh go head-to-head with fierce rivals Tyrone, in Owenbeg.
At the sound of the hooter the tense and hard-fought game resulted in an Armagh 2-13 win over Tyrone’s 1-15… with just one point in it!
The following day the team took to “long-standing supporters” and main sponsor’s premises The Carrickdale Hotel & Spa, to “proudly showcase” the trophy and express their “sincere gratitude” for their continued support.
Of their sponsor’s invaluable contribution, Armagh LGFC said: “Their backing, both on and off the field, is never taken for granted, and everyone involved with the squad greatly appreciates everything they do.
“Success is built on strong partnerships, and without the support of valued sponsors such as The Carrickdale Hotel & Spa, we simply could not operate at the level we do.
“Thank you for standing with us every step of the way.”
