incredABLE was established more than 25 years ago, when a group of parents, volunteers and professionals identified a need for young people with learning/intellectual disabilities and/or autism to have more opportunities to socialise with their peers within their local community in the Southern Trust area.

Since then, incredABLE has grown into an award-winning organisation that encompasses everything from creative and meaningful social/recreational opportunities, to skills-based provision for life and work, as well as social enterprise development for people of all ages.

In the meantime, the opening of the Armagh shop will see incredABLE, who were crowned ‘Social Enterprise of the Year’ at last November’s Social Enterprise Of The Year Awards, increase the number of social enterprises they operate to eight.

The charity, which provides meaningful opportunities for people with a learning disability and/or autism in the Southern Trust area, operates four ‘Cafe incredABLE’ social enterprise cafes in Banbridge, Craigavon, Lurgan and Newry employing over 100 people, including many incredABLE individuals who just happen to have a learning disability and/or autism.

Under the ‘Stay incredABLE’ brand, the organisation operates three self-catering residential locations – two of which are in the Armagh area with the third in pictureesque Mourne Mountains. The centres provide quality, affordable accommodation all year round for charities, schools, churches, sports teams, and youth organisations.

This Autumn, incredABLE hopes to further expand by opening a second charity shop in Lurgan under the ‘Just incredABLE’ brand creating even more opportunities.
