An application for a huge housing development close to Mullinure in Armagh will come back before planning officials this month.
Approval has been previously been granted to build 183 houses in the area as part of latter phases of an overall development of hundreds of new homes.Permission for this was granted last June by the Department of Environment Planning Service, subject to an extensive list of conditions being laid down.
But now the applicant has applied for a variation of some of those conditions imposed.
A number of applications have been lodged in recent years for huge numbers of homes to be built in various phases, in an area which stretches between Portadown Road and Loughgall Road.
This particular application is for 183 residential properties and includes landscaping and open space.
As part of the conditions dictated to the developer, access arrangements for the development were to be put in place prior to work beginning.
The applicant has now applied for these conditions to be varied.
The properties approved are on a site 280 metres of the old disused Armagh to Portadown railway line, and west of Mullinure Lane.
The application to vary conditions has been submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s planning team for consideration.
This, and a copy of the planning history relating to the site, have been forwarded to Transport NI for feedback.
A proposal to built 182 new homes was also approved last year.
