Body of man discovered on the outskirts of Armagh

The body of a man has been discovered on the outskirts of Armagh city.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the death, reports Belfast Live.

Search teams were involved in the operation, which began at midnight on Wednesday.

The search for the missing man continued throughout the night before the team stood down around 5.30am this morning.

A local farmer discovered a body around 3pm, within a three mile radius of the city.

A police spokesman said: “The death is not believed to be suspicious.”

Belfast Community Rescue Service were involved in searches today.

A post on their Facebook read: “Searches continued throughout the night with teams being stood down at 0530hrs this morning.

“At approximately 1500hrs a local farmer discovered a body approximately one mile from the search area.

“The body is believed to be that of the missing person.

“The volunteers of the CRS would extend our sympathies and prayers to the family and friends of the deceased at this sad time.”
