A social media campaign, started by an Armagh woman who wanted to land her best friend and her soon-to-be-husband their wedding band, has been successful.
Chief bridesmaid Natasha Knipe contacted the band ‘Exclusive’ a fortnight ago in the hope they’d agree to the challenge – and ultimately play at the wedding of Jasmine Dodds and Michael Wilson.
And with just 48 hours to spare in the two week campaign, the band’s challenge was met when their post was liked 5,000 times, shared 500 times and exceeded 500 comments.

The band posted on their Facebook page on Saturday evening: “Yeeeeeeoooooooo, well done to Natasha Knipe on winning the shares likes and comments thing for her best friend Jasmine, we are delighted for you both, we will be seeing you on the 10th of February 2018, #winning #yourbigday #exclusive #5000likes #500shares #500comments.”
Speaking to Armagh I, Natasha said: “I’m so grateful that all those people helped us get our target, we couldn’t have done it without any of them!
“We would all like to thank our family and friends and to all the people that we don’t know, they have all been amazing and showed us a great amount of support!
“I know that Jasmine and Michael are both beyond excited that they will have Exclusive at their wedding!”
She added: “Near the end we were staring to panic, thinking we wouldn’t get the target but we got on with our lives and every time we took to looking, the numbers had gone up another 100.
“I was waking up in the mornings with a message from Jasmine telling me how many it was at; it had gone up from when we talked the nights before. We now can’t wait to hear the band at the wedding. It’ll be fantastic.”
