
Police in Armagh are appealing for information following a collision on the Killylea Road and subsequent arrest of two men on Saturday 23rd August.
Shortly after 3pm on Saturday afternoon, a police patrol noted a grey BMW X5 being driven on the Teeraw Road.
Upon seeing the police patrol the BMW drove off at speed in the direction of Armagh City along the Ballycrummy Road and onto the Killylea Road, driving at times on the wrong side of the road and dangerously overtaking other vehicles, until it collided with a silver Ford Fiesta.
Officers arrested the two occupants of the BMW, men aged 21 and 22, and conducted a search of the vehicle where they found quantities of herbal cannabis and cannabis vapes.
Follow up searches were then carried out and a large sum of cash and a number of expensive watches were recovered.
The 21-year-old was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including dangerous driving, possession of class B drugs, possession of class B drugs with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.
He remains in custody at this time.
The 22-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply and has since been released on police bail to allow for further enquiries to be conducted.
Officers would ask anyone who was driving in the area and captured dash-cam footage which could be of assistance to their investigation, to contact them in Armagh on 101, quoting reference number 989 23/08/25.
SUN, AUG 24, 6PM UPDATE: A 21-year-old man, arrested following a collision on the Killylea Road, Armagh, on Saturday, 23rd August has been released on police bail to allow for further enquiries.
He was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including dangerous driving, possession of Class B drugs, possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.
