College Farm Nursery School in Armagh has been awarded a cash of £10,000 to build an outdoor play area.
The new facility will be aimd at encouraging imaginative play and regular activity.
Meanwhile, City of Armagh High is receiving a £9,975 grant to help Bulgarian Roma students integrate more fully with the school community.
This includes cultural and social trips for students, a Bulgarian language support pack for parents, and bilingual learning assistants.
Both are among 111 groups, schools and clubs across the Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon, Portadown and Newry areas to receive National Lottery funding. All share in a total of £987,687 from Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All programme.
Davina’s Ark in Newry, is using a grant of £9,240 to deliver a 12-week programme for people affected by addiction. The project will support the person in recovery but also the wider community, including families and young people.
IUR-FM Limited, based in Newry, is using a grant of £9,849 to establish a group of community reporters to increase volunteering opportunities in Newry and the surrounding rural area.
Plough Historical And Cultural Group Limited, also Newry, is using the grant of £9,583 to run a range of skills development activities including capacity building, basic computer skills and mental health awareness training.
And Centred Soul-Health & Wellbeing For All The Family C.I.C., receives a £9,985 grant to provide a range of courses and counselling sessions for local women affected by perinatal mental health issues and their families.
Polish Families Community Association Newry & District gets £3,750 to run a range of activities for the whole community including summer scheme, a Christmas party and trips for young people and older people.
St Joseph’s Boys’ High School, is using a £9,999 grant to build a nurture area designed to help students improve their resilience and make healthy choices. This includes furniture for the area, training programmes and team building activities.
Little Acorns Playgroup, in Craigavon, has been awarded £10,000 to build a canopy that will wrap around the front and side of their mobile building. The canopy gives shelter to children so they can play outside all year round, whatever the weather.
Magherally Rural Association, outside Banbridge, is using a £10,000 grant to install a new kitchen and to hire a quantity surveyor/architect to produce plans to extend their hall.
This will make the hall more accessible and help the group to offer a wider range of activities to people living in the local area.
Clendinning Community Association, based in Portadown, receives £9,800 to run a series of activities for the local community, including art sessions, day trips, educational workshops and skills training.
Dunlewey Addiction Services LTD is using the grant of £9,986 to deliver a day care programme in their Portadown office for people in the Southern Trust area who have completed a programme of treatment for addiction to help them integrate back into the community.
Also receiving funding is Portadown Widows Group. It will get a grant of £9,713 for a programme events including day trips, exercise sessions, dancing, arts and crafts, and a residential trip.
