Concerns have been raised after a number of high-valued machinery have been stolen from properties outside Armagh recently.

Police have made an appeal for information following the theft of a New Holland Skid Steer from the Outlack Road area of city – close to Collone.

Inspector Leslie Badger said: “It is understood, the vehicle was taken sometime between Saturday, May 2 and Tuesday May 5 at around 7pm. If you can help with our enquiries please call the 101 number quoting reference number 268 of 6.5.20.”

It comes after a quad was stolen on the outskirts of Markethill.

The red Honda ST70 quad with AZTEC weed sprayer mounted on the rear was snatched last week.

Constable Patrick McNally commented: “It is understood the vehicle was taken from the Ballyvally Road, Armagh, on April 30.

“If you can help please call the 101 number. Alternatively information about crime can be passed anonymously via the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”

Commenting on the thefts, DUP MLA William Irwin said: “These are very concerning thefts of valuable equipment which will leave the owners at a great inconvenience.

“This type of equipment is purchased for a reason, to carry out important work, therefore to for criminal elements to then steal this machinery is unacceptable.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious to contact the PSNI, pass on this information and assist them with their inquiries.”
