This year, Armagh I introduced a new award category for the People of the Year Awards in partnership with Armagh Credit Union.
‘Champion of the Arts’ recognises an individual that has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the promotion, support, and advancement of the arts within their community or industry.
The first recipient of this award goes to Kate Boylan, a local artist who for many years has taught free classes to young and old aspiring artists in Ballymacnab Community Hall.
The quirky classes Kate hosts help to actively promote the value and importance of the arts in society.
With the help of Kate’s son Ciaran, he organised a family get together over the Bank Holiday in Dante’s Deli.
Ciaran had just returned from a long work trip in Japan – with an unsuspecting Kate thinking they where out for a nice family catchup before we showed up to present her with her trophy – kindly sponsored by Tarasis Enterprises.
