An Armagh man who told police “dead on” after being cautioned for using his mobile phone whilst driving has had three penalty points placed on his licence.
Dean Richard Frazer, 29, of Drumgaw Road, was sentenced in his absence at the city’s Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
It was heard that the defendant had a clean licence although he had previously held three penalty points in 2015, which were no longer live.
Frazer was spotted by police on January 20 using his mobile on Railway Street and the Moy Road whilst driving a Caddy van.
He was subsequently pulled over by officers and when he was cautioned he simply replied “dead on”.
Court heard the defendant was offered the fixed penalty but did not have his licence with him on that day.
Frazer had three penalty points placed on his licence and was ordered to pay a fine of £100, along with the offender’s levy of £15.
