The long-awaited Northern Ireland High Street Scheme (HSS) has begun with many starting to receive their £100 Spend Local pre-paid cards.
The objective of the £145 million scheme is to boost local businesses following the drop in footfall brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Many have been hemming and hawing over what they will be spending their £100 on but one Armagh firm is offering customers the chance to double their money.
Traynor Furnishings was started by brothers Jason and Gary Traynor from a shed at the family home back in 2015.
Now the firm boasts stores in both Armagh and Dungannon.
They are offering an extra £100 off the first High Street Voucher used by any customer spending over £500 in store – and they will accept multiple vouchers being used on any purchase.
Speaking to Armagh I, Jason joked that if two or three vouchers were matched for every purchase he would virtually be giving away the furniture.
“Our customers have been a brilliant support throughout the pandemic. The government have given back and we are trying to do the same.”
With the property market rising and along with this the price of furniture due to issues over deliveries, this could be the perfect opportunity to kit out your home ahead of the festive period.
Jason explained that Traynors were fortunate to have launched their website just one month before the country entered lockdown.
“It really was crazy, I don’t know how we would have done it without the website,” he said. “Now the issue is cost and stock but we have also been fortunate with that.”
