Detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch uncovered a quantity of explosives during searches at two addresses in the Benburb area on the Tyrone/Armagh border.
The searches, on Thursday, were in relation to dissident republican activity.
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Griffin said: “We removed a number of items during [the] searches, including a quantity of explosives, which will now be the subject of further examination.
“This operation has removed these dangerous items from our communities and undoubtedly saved lives.
“We will continue in our efforts to disrupt terrorists and the crimes and activities they are involved in.”
Ulster Unionist Rosemary Barton MLA thanked the PSNI for their dedication in tackling dissident republican activity across the area.
“The dangerous items discovered in Benburb have now been removed, increasing the safety of local residents and ultimately saving lives,” she said.
“I would urge anybody that could be of assistance to on-going investigations, to get in touch with the PSNI as soon as possible.”
