The funeral of an Armagh man tragically killed in a road traffic accident will take place on Sunday.
Terence (Terry) Fox, 46, was struck by a car while out walking on the Moy Road around 5.15am on Thursday (December 27).
Tributes have been pouring in for the father-of-three since his untimely passing.
His local GAA club, St Colmcille’s GFC, said: “We are deeply saddened at the passing of our friend and member Terry Fox.
“We express our condolences to his daughters Lauren, Stephanie and Emma and his entire family circle.”
On social media, many referred to Mr Fox as a gentleman, while one woman commented: “One of the nicest fellas I’ve known since we were in our teens.”
Another simply said: “Rest in Peace Terry – an absolute gentleman.”
A death notice for Mr Fox read: “Loving daddy to Lauren, Stephanie and Emma, beloved partner of Fiona and son of the late Thomas and Lil and brother of the late Helen.
“Terry will repose at His late home from Saturday until removal on Sunday at 9am for 10am Requiem Mass in the Church of St Malachy, with burial afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery.
“Very deeply regretted by his sorrowing daughters, partner, brothers, Sean and Tom, sisters, Deirdre and Noreen, brothers in Law, sister in law, nephews, nieces and entire family circle.”
SDLP councillor Mealla Campbell said whole community has “been left shaken” by the tragedy.
“My thoughts and prayers are with all the families and friends affected by this tragedy. Any news like this coming to your door at any time is devastating, but it’s particularly poignant at Christmas.”
Sinn Féin councillor Garath Keating added: “There is a deep sense of shock in the local community at the news of this tragic incident.
“Foremost in our minds right now is the deceased man’s family and friends who will be devastated at this harrowing news. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”
