It’s that time of year again and the countdown is on to Black Friday – a day of high-pressure shopping that brings the crowds out in the hope of bagging a bargain.
And more and more stores are getting in on the action.
Many retailers have been spreading their offers over longer periods of time to try and take the pressure off.
And there’s no doubting whatsoever that there are amazing deals to be had.
Last year’s scenes of fighting (yes, we posted the videos!!) put many off the idea – not just customers but retailers.
Asda has already said that it will not be participating.
But many more are and the offers are available for many online as well as in store.
Some stores will be opening much earlier in the morning in a bid to ease the crowds and offer convenience.
Argos, for one, has already been offering massive savings throughout the week.
And it is one of a number of stores in Armagh which will be opening earlier. The outlet, at the Spires Retail Park, will be pulling the shutters up this Friday at 6am and will remain open through until 11.30pm that night.
Tesco’s big store at Highfield Road in Craigavon is a 24-hour store anyway, but the Black Friday deals will be available on the day from 5am.
As part of its drive to help customers, Tesco has announced details of some of the best deals in store and online. The event will include over 200 electrical, entertainment and mobile products with discounts of up to 70%.
Highlights include Digihome 49” large screen LED TV with Freeview (now £199, save £150) Beats solo 2 On-Ear Headphones (now £69, save £100); Acer laptop with 15.6” screen and 1terrabyte hard disk drive (now £179, save £100); Samsung 10” Android Tablet (now £99, save £60).
Currys, also promising huge savings on its vast range of electrical goods, is due to be opening from 6am.
Last year a queue of shoppers were leaving the Sainsbury’s store in Armagh with televisions being the main purchase. It will be open this year again from 8.30am as usual with some good offers available – and this part of an in-store only event.
The Rug House in Newry is also putting the customer first both in store and online with an extra 70% off their fantastic range!
Debenhams, with outlets at both Rushmere in Craigavon and The Quays in Newry, is also getting in on the Black Friday spirit and is offering up to 30 per cent off in many departments.
Clothing retailer DV8 has been running special offers throughout the week, with many items up to half price.
Superdrug’s Black Friday cut price offers kicked off today (Wednesday) and will run until next Tuesday, December 1, with customers able up to 65% on some top brand items.
Regardless of what you are looking for, you are sure to find it – just stay calm, be patient and remember everything comes to those that wait!
