Cormeen Rising Sons of William Flute Band’s annual parade in Armagh city saw more than 1,600 members participate from all over Northern Ireland on Saturday night.
A total of 43 bands took to the city streets on the eve of St Patrick’s Day in an evening described by the organisers as “fantastic”.
The annual procession is now in its 19th year and marks the beginning of the marching season.
Following the event, Cormeen Rising Sons of William Flute Band, posted: “Every county of our province had representatives on show, and the crowd spread over the route was excellent.
“The first takeaway from the night is the standard on display. There genuinely was not one poor band out this evening. Every single band was playing well, and with that as well numbers are definitely up.
“If [Saturday night] is anything to go by, the ‘Band Season’ ahead is going to be a cracker!
“Thank you to every band who came along and supported us, and we pledge to return that support, bar disaster! Thanks to to every individual as well who came and who donated to band funds. Going to be a great year….”
