incredABLE’s Black Moon Disco relaunches in memory of Armagh’s Phil ‘DJ Chill’ Cheung

IncredABLE Black Moon will make a return after a three year hiatus on Friday October 27, with a frightfully exciting, ‘Halloween’ disco at Armagh City Hotel!

The Black Box, Belfast (Home of the original Black Moon) are delighted to see the return of Black Moon disco to Armagh, an inclusive disco for adults with intellectual/learning disabilities and/or autism to socialise, meet new friends and have fun!

This spooktacular night will re-launch in memory of incredABLE’s biggest supporter, advocate and friend, Armagh Based DJ – DJ Chill (Phil Cheung) who was part of the original incredABLE Black Moon organising team and who tragically died in October 2021.

Enterprises Manager, Gemma McKinney, commented: “Having worked so closely with Phil for more than two years on the hosting these popular social events, it was difficult to imagine them happening without him.

“Closing the door on incredABLE Black Moon in March 2020, due to Covid, was extremely hard for us all, especially Phil, who was acutely aware of the increased social isolation being experienced by some of the most vulnerable in our society already, however, as the years have gone on, demand for this type of bespoke social opportunity has only increased.

“We realise that as an organisation with incredABLE opportunities at its core, adults with learning/intellectual disabilities and/or autism need and deserve this type of provision and it’s what Phil would have wanted. I feel honoured to be bringing the incredABLE Black Moon back in Phil’s memory.”

The entertainment on the night will be provided by popular DJ – Sammy J Entertainment – and will include a Monstrous Raffle with some amazing prizes, Ghostly Photobooth, Ghoulish Games, Macabre Merchandise, Scary spot prizes and much more.

All proceeds from the night will support an incredABLE project in Phil’s memory.

Fancy dress is of course voluntary, but absolutely everyone is welcome including all witches, ghouls, ghosts and whatever else appears!

If you are unable to attend the disco, but would like to make a donation, please support Phil’s best friend – Jackie Coades’s – fundraiser for incredABLE in memory of Phil via the JustGiving page here.

Doors open at Armagh City Hotel on Friday October 27, at 7pm in the Fringe Lounge. Entry fee £5 (payable at door). Carer donation welcome but optional. Strictly over 18’s only.
