A former H Block prisoner from Armagh has co-written a book of memoirs that he hopes will add his voice to a collection of voices, allowing each of us to better understand the complexities of 'The Troubles'.
Malachy 'Muffles' Trainor created his latest book I Only Went Out for the Paper with the help of co-author, researcher, and academic Siobhan Hughes.
It was published at the end of 2024 and spans some 200 pages, complete with a bibliography. Its cover depicts a bird's-eye view of the H-Blocks at The Maze Prison, superimposed above Malachy himself, looking out over the grounds of Armagh's famous Mall.
