Laois have this evening accepted a ruling by GAA chiefs to replay their First Round Qualifier with Armagh.
An official statement from Laois county board read: “Further to All Ireland Qualifier Laois v Armagh last weekend, CCCC following an investigation arising from Referees Report has proposed that this game is to be replayed, at a venue and date to be confirmed.
“The investigation has found that Laois to be in breach of Rule 6.44, in that they exceeded the number of substitutes permitted. Laois GAA following a Management Meeting this evening has decided to accept the proposed penalty.”
Kieran McGeeney’s men were dumped out of the competition following their 0-10 1-10 reversal at the hands of the O’Moore County in Portlaois on Saturday afternoon.
However, Laois used one more sub than the allocated six allowed. Shane Murphy was introduced in injury time, replacing Brendan Quigley who was black-carded.
The game is re-fixed for 3pm on Saturday 2nd July in Portlaoise.
