The Livingstone Tractor Run in 2022 has raised the fantastic sum of £153,415 for three local charities, it has been announced.
The hugely popular tractor run, which was started back in 2012 by the Livingstone family, made a welcome return on New Year’s Eve – the last Saturday of the year – with its origins focused on fundraising for the Southern Area Hospice in response to the incredible care they provided to Marina Livingstone in the last few weeks of her life.
This year’s event was dedicated to the memory of Shane Lappin, who was an enthusiastic volunteer who passed away tragically while building his home for his wife Sarah.
Shane had been involved with the tractor run since its inception in 2012.
The Southern Area Hospice, NI Children’s Hospice and NI Air Ambulance will each receive £51,138 from the tractor run.
The Livingstone family said: “This was a great year and we are delighted to raise this amount with the fantastic support of Ben Sergeant, local businesses and the public.
“Ben Sergeant of Ben Sergeant Tractors has supported the event for several years and we appreciated the continued support. We were delighted we were able to make generous donation to the Southern Area Hospice, NI Children’s Hospice and NI Air Ambulance charities.”
The Livingstone Family, Francie and Barry Lappin and committee members along with Ben Sergeant presented cheques to each of the three charities.
