Plenty of schools across the district have closed as snow continues to play havoc on the roads this morning (Thursday).
Police have warned of treacherous conditions on the road again this morning, with a number of calls during the night, where they’ve helped people whose vehicles have been getting stuck in the snow.
A police spokesperson said: “Rural and especially untreated roads are pretty bad. The main roads are being treated, but the snow just keeps coming, we’ve been in touch with roads service during the night, and they’ve been flat out trying to get roads clear.
“The Keady Road is pretty bad at the moment, and there’s currently a 40ft truck stuck about three miles outside Armagh which is passable with care.
“If you need to go out this morning, please take extreme care, keep the speed down, keep your distance, and stick to the main roads best you can. If you don’t need to go out, your best bet is to probably stay at home, stick the heat on.
“It’s worthwhile too, to keep an eye on your elderly neighbours and relatives.”
