Waste offences at an illegal scrapyard in Co Armagh were targeted during a joint operation in Middletown at the weekend.
The Northern Ireland Environment Agency confirmed on Monday that it had carried out the operation with the PSNI targeting illegal waste.
On Saturday, the Environmental Crime Section (ECS) of NIEA and PSNI targeted Middletown.
Two pieces of machinery used in relation to the illegal activity were seized and further investigations are ongoing.
A spokesman for the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) said: “The operation underlines our commitment to work with partner agencies to protect the environment by disrupting illegal activity and detecting criminal offences.”
ECS utilise legislative powers to investigate environmental criminality under the Waste and Contaminated Land (NI) Order 1997.
