Madden GAA club on sponsorship drive for tee-riffic Golf Classic fundraiser

Madden Raparees GAC is inviting local businesses to support its upcoming Golf Classic fundraiser, which will take place at County Armagh Golf Club on Friday May 22, 2026.

The event has already received a strong response from golfers, with team places almost fully booked, and organisers are now encouraging local companies to get involved through sponsorship opportunities.

The Golf Classic will feature a four-ball competition starting at 8.30am, with golfers enjoying a BBQ on the 11th hole, a meal in the Parkland Restaurant, and a range of prizes.

Club Chairperson Brendan Vallely said the event is an important fundraiser for the club: “We have been delighted by the response so far, with team places filling quickly.

“Like many GAA clubs, we have strong participation across all age groups and particularly at underage level, and events like this help ensure we can continue to support our teams and develop the club for the future.”

Funds raised from the event will support the continued development of the club, which currently fields 16 underage teams alongside its senior teams.

Coaching Officer Kevin McElvanna added: “The club continues to grow and it’s great to see so many people involved at all levels. Support from the community and local businesses helps us continue to develop our facilities, coaching and opportunities for players across the club.”

Sponsorship opportunities include tee sponsorship (£100) and green sponsorship (£150), giving local businesses the opportunity to showcase their brand on the course during the day while supporting grassroots sport in the community.

The event is proudly supported by main sponsor Borderline Tiles, whose backing has helped make this year’s Golf Classic possible.

For sponsorship enquiries, please contact Kevin McElvanna on 07736 320288.
