Man accused of assisting murderer has bail refused

A man accused of assisting in the murder of foreign national Gediminas Stauskas has had a bail application for an address in Armagh refused.

Marius Dzimisevicious, 27, is accused of helping Darius Sikorskas, 34, in the transportation of the victim.

Stauskas, 32, originally from Lithuania, was found dead in a garage in Clonoe, county Tyrone in October. He had a violent past, having been jailed for five and a half years for in 2011 for manslaughter.

Stauskas was also being sought by police in relation to his alleged involvement in a Newry shooting shortly before his death.

Sikorskas, the man accused of the torture and murder, had previously given his address as no fixed abode, Armagh.

Defence counsel for Dzimisevicious submitted a bail address for the Sisters of Mercy in county Armagh, but District Judge John Meehan refused it.

The trial continues next month.
