Man accused of causing death of Armagh teenager ‘cannot be found’

Co-accused did not appear when required to do so on Tuesday

A man accused of causing the death of a county Armagh teenager cannot be found, a court has heard.

Nathan Finn, 18, from the Keady Road, has already been charged with causing Lesley-Ann McCarragher’s death, having no driver’s licence and driving while uninsured.

However, his co-accused, who cannot be named at this stage, failed to appear at Armagh magistrates’ Court on Tuesday afternoon.

Lesley-Ann, 19, was killed in a hit-and-run incident while she was out jogging on the Monaghan Road in Armagh last April.

She was airlifted to hospital but passed away as a result of her injuries.

Both men are charged with causing the teenager’s death by dangerous driving.

The case against Finn had been adjourned until his co-accused appeared before Magistrates yesterday.
