Man accused of robbing Post Office and service station to face Crown Court

A case in which it is alleged a firearm was used in a robbery and attempted robbery is to move to crown court for trial.

In order of alleged occurrence, Finbar Stephen Maguire, from Bay View, Jonesborough is accused of attempting to rob a Post Office in Cullyhanna on October 5, 2022.

Six days later, on October 11, 2022, the 34-year-old is accused of robbing a service station of £100 followed by €100 from a business, both while in possession of a handgun with intent to endanger life.

A prosecuting lawyer told Armagh Magistrates’ Court the case is on track to transfer for trial.

District Judge Anne Marshall remanded Maguire on continuing bail to attend for a committal hearing on July 18 when he is expected to be returned for trial.
