A Loughgilly man accused of trying to inflict grievous bodily harm on another male will face Crown Court proceedings next month.
The 37-year-old will on that occasion make it known whether he wishes to contest the single charge against him.
Christopher John Allen, of Neills Villas, appeared charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm at Armagh Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
As the charge was read out, it was heard that the offence was alleged to have occurred on February 17 with a male the alleged injured party.
Standing in the dock, the defendant made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution said that based on the papers before the court they believed there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence solicitor Joseph McDonald made no contrary submissions.
District Judge Paul Copeland stated that he was satisfied there was a case to answer.
Allen was released on his own bail of £500 to appear before Newry Crown Court on December 10 for arraignment.
