A man who stole £200 worth of Pokemon cards from a number of shops on seven separate occasions is to be sentenced next month.

Andrew Maclean, with an address in Hammond Farm, Lisburn, stole the Pokemon items from Sainsbury’s in Armagh on four occasions between December 5, 2023 and April 11 of this year.

Also on April 11, the 37-year-old also stole eight Nintento Switch games and 10 Pokemon Packs to the value of £159.90 from B&M Bargains in Armagh.

He also admitted to stealing Pokemon cards from Sainsbury’s in Newry on March 8, 2023 and again from Sainsbury’s in Coleraine on May 18, 2023.

Appearing before Armagh Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Newry, Maclean pleaded guilty to the seven counts of theft.

None of the facts were read out but a pre-sentence report was ordered before sentencing on December 7.

Maclean has previously been convicted of stealing Pokemon cards, receiving a conditional discharge for an offence which occurred in Sainsbury’s Newry on July 4, 2023.
