A man and woman facing drugs charges, including being concerned in the supply of Class B, will face Crown Court proceedings later this year.
The pair appeared at Armagh Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Newry, on Tuesday for the purposes of a preliminary enquiry (PE), the legal process during which a case is referred to the higher court.
Craig Johnston, 30, of Gilpin Park in Dollingstown, is charged with possession of Class B with intent to supply, two counts of offering to supply Class A, two counts of offering to supply Class B, being concerned in the supply of Class A and being concerned in the supply of Class B.
Meanwhile, Zoe Nora Flynn, 26, faces a single charge of being concerned in the supply of Class B.
As the charges were read, it was heard that the offences were alleged to have occurred between April 25 and June 15, 2018.
Johnston appearing via videolink from Magilligan and Flynn from her solicitor’s office. Both made no objections to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.
Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.
Defence counsel for both defendants made no contrary submissions.
Deputy District Judge Peter Prenter, satisfied there was a prima facie case to answer, released Flynn on continuing bail and remanded Johnston in custody to appear before Newry Crown Court on September 9 for arraignment.
