A man has been charged in connection with the fatal road traffic collision which claimed the lives of father and son Peter and Loughlin Devlin.
Detectives from the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit confirmed they had charged a 32-year-old man to court following the collision last Friday, December 27.
Peter (63) and 28-year-old Loughlin Devlin died at the scene of the collision, while Peter’s wife, Ursula, was taken to hospital where police said the remains in a critical condition.
Two others, including a five-month-old, were also travelling in the vehicle in which the father and son – who were laid to rest on Wednesday – died.
The man charged faces two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, and one count of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving.
He is due to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Friday, January 3.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
