A man has been given the chance to re-engage with his community service order despite awaiting sentencing for a drink driving matter.
District Judge Paul Copeland told the 25-year-old: “The court hates it when people waste time and the goodwill it has bestowed.”
Glenn Ethan Flynn, of Flush Place, with an address in Lisburn, appeared charged with driving with excess alcohol, using a vehicle without insurance, being an unaccompanied learner driver, not displaying ‘L’ plates, no driving licence, taking a vehicle without authority and driving without due care or attention.
Armagh Magistrates’ Court heard on Tuesday that the defendant had also been summoned by probation as he had breached an order which had been put in place in March of this year.
This community service order had been handed out to Flynn for charges of common assault and threats to kill.
Defence solicitor Jarlath Fields stated that probation were willing to allow the defendant to re-engage.
He asked that sentencing in the motoring offences be adjourned into the new year to allow this to happen.

The case will return to court on January 15 for sentencing.
