A man who entered his family home to drink and party without permission must wait until the New Year to learn his fate.
The 21-year-old was released on his own bail of £250 and was banned from entering Tandragee.
Christopher Bamber, of Malone Road in Belfast, appeared for sentencing on a charge of being found on a premises for an unlawful purpose at Armagh Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Prosecution outlined that on February 10, police on patrol in Tandragee observed activity at a property on Knockview Drive, which they had secured the previous day.
Officers entered to find damage which had not been there the day before along with a number of individuals including the defendant.
Police spoke with the owner of the property who claimed that Bamber did not have permission to be there.
During interview, the defendant admitted to going to the address to drink and have a party.
District Judge Paul Copeland commented: “I see your client had a record for drugs and assault on police. What made him travel to this address from Belfast?”
Defence barrister Conor Coulter stated: “The defendant grew up in this home, but his mother and father separated around this time.
“He did have permission to be at this property but not for the purpose he had been using it for.”
He added: “He had been working in Marks and Spencer’s but he has had an alcohol problem from a very young age but he has recently begun attending community addictions.”
District Judge Paul Copeland said: “I will need a pre-sentence report. Maybe probation could offer a positive impact.”
Bamber was released on his own bail of £250 and was prohibited from entering Tandragee.
