MLA congratulates Armagh Lions Club on minibus fundraising success

Armagh Lions Club has successfully completed its task and bought a new minibus for Lisanally Special School.

In July, the Big Lottery Fund confirmed £10,000 towards the cost of providing the specially adapted vehicle.

The money went towards the Lions Club’s active fundraising campaign to help the school buy the bus, having adopted the minibus appeal as its current signature project.

And now success has been achieved.

Lisanally Special School caters for pupils between the ages of three and 19 who have learning difficulties or complex needs.

The local community is very supportive of the school and rallied round to help, supporting the various fundraising efforts.

The new minibus – which has a multi-coloured design and the school’s name and Lions’ Club emblazoned on it – will be fully accessible to cater to the pupils’ needs.

It will allow the young people to participate in and enjoy an expanded range of extra-curricular activities.

Newry and Armagh Ulster Unionist MLA Danny Kennedy is delighted with the result  and tonight offered his congratulations to the Lions Club for their fundraising success.
