Armstrong Primary School in Armagh has been awarded £10,000 of National Lottery funding.
The city-based school will use the cash for its ‘Green Heroes’ project, which includes creating an outdoor eco-classroom including timber planters and willow tunnels.
Meanwhile, St Mary’s GFC in Granemore, Co Armagh, also gets a £10,000 award.
The club offers a venue and community activities including fundraising, concerts and health programmes. It will use the money to refurbish toilet facilities to make them more suitable for community events and activities.
The two are amongst 73 groups across Northern Ireland who are sharing £661,724 from Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All programme, confirmed on Thursday.
Other recipients include the Orchard Social Club for Visually Impaired People.
Based in Armagh, the club is for local people who are socially isolated because of a visual impairment.
They are using the grant of £4,037 to run trips and social events for members.
1st Armagh Boy Scout Troop has been awarded 9,805 to buy a trailer, kayaks, canoes and appropriate safety equipment.
And Pert Rural Community Network Association, based outside Armagh, is using a grant of £5,750 to run a range of activities including dance classes, flower arranging, digital photography training, cake decorating and educational classes.
