Navan Centre & Fort are celebrating success after being crowned number one visitor attraction in Armagh on TripAdvisor and the Travellers Choice Award, formerly known as the Certificate of Excellence.

Navan Centre & Fort are located on the edge of Armagh City, a unique opportunity for visitors to experience what life was like over 2,000 years ago, walk in the footsteps of warriors to the ancient Navan Fort, see impressive ceremonial structures and period dwellings.

During your visit, you may find the Celts regaling you with stories of their past triumphs, cooking, weaving or even preparing their weaponry for battle.

The Travellers’ Choice Award is based solely on customer reviews and ratings collected over the previous 12 months, recognising businesses that earn consistently great reviews. Travellers’ Choice award-winners are among the top 10% of listings on TripAdvisor.

Navan Centre & Fort is also celebrating their position as the current number one ‘thing to do’ in County Armagh, an excellent accolade to recognise the hard work of the venue’s staff who consistently ensure that every visitor is given a warm welcome to the area and an entertaining yet educational tour.

All staff ensure that customers leave enthused by the knowledge of this most important site and its abundant tales of myth, legend, history, and archaeology.

Lord Mayor Margaret Tinsley commented: “All of the team at Navan Centre & Fort are delighted with their double success on TripAdvisor, receiving the Travellers’ Choice Award for 2023 and holding the position as the current number one visitor experience in Armagh.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them on their achievement and I have no doubt they will continue to strive for excellence.”

John Boris, Chief Growth Officer at TripAdvisor, said: “Congratulations to the 2023 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice winners. The travel resurgence we have seen throughout the past year has even further heightened the competition.

“Earning a Travellers’ Choice award demonstrates that you have provided great experiences to those who matter most: your guests. With changing expectations, continued labour shortages, and rising costs, this is no easy feat, and I am continually impressed with the hospitality industry’s resilience and ability to adapt. Cheers to another successful year!”

Navan Centre & Fort has a busy summer season ahead, with their daily family oriented ‘Meet the Warriors’ experience and guided tours to the Legendary Navan Fort / Emain Macha.

They are also holding a weekend of events to celebrate the Celtic festival of Lughnasa from 4th-6th August, starting with an evening of storytelling and music ‘Tales of the Past’ and a family fun afternoon ‘Games of the Past’, before concluding with a Fused Glass Ogham Experience on the Sunday.
