A new fashion festival could become a highlight of the borough’s calendar.
Work has been ongoing behind the scenes to see what can be included and achieved.
The annual ‘Spring Made Stylish’ campaign has undergone a review with a bid to get the private sector on board.
This review has now identified ways to bring about improvements and enhance the delivery of a high standard campaign across the borough, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has been told.
Due to changing trends in consumer buying behaviour – and with the increasing dominance of social media and online marketing techniques – it has been suggested a new campaign reflecting this is delivered to achieve maximum impact.
Proposals for key elements of the campaign include fashion and beauty masterclasses, style workshops, fashion blogging, pop-up fashion events, social media video profiles, comprehensive marketing campaign, and industry experts.
Given consideration to the most effective time of year to deliver the campaign – and ensuring conflicting messaging does not occur with existing events – it has been proposed it be held in October 2017.
This will help showcase the autumn and winter collections for businesses across the borough.
Dates will be finalised after further consultation with Chambers of Commerce.
A further report will be brought back to the council’s economic development committee.
