Are you aged between 16 and 24 and currently not in education, employment or training?
Southern Regional College (SRC) is offering fantastic opportunities to discover your potential and build a brighter future with College Connect +.
Now in its third year, College Connect + is a fully funded programme delivered through Step-Up (Skills, Training and Employment Programme), and supported by the Department for the Economy.
It’s designed to empower and help you to re-engage with education and develop new skills. That means courses are provided completely FREE to participants!
Starting this September, young adults can apply now for free introductory Level 1 courses across SRC campuses in areas such as Construction, Health & Social Care with Children, and Sport.
What sets College Connect+ apart, is its unique wraparound support. Participants will benefit from a tailored package of support which includes:
- A personalised learning plan
- One-to-one mentoring and encouragement
- Guidance to achieve a Level 1 Vocational qualification
- Support with developing Essential Skills in Communication and Application of Number
- Free expert careers advice from SRC’s dedicated Careers Advisors
- The opportunity to learn new skills
The programme itself is designed to boost confidence, overcome personal barriers and give you the practical tools to enter employment or progress to further education.
Here’s what one participant had to say about their experience:
“I applied to the Collect Connect + programme because I wanted to challenge myself and work towards achieving the highest qualification possible. Along the way, I also had the opportunity to gain Essential Skills in both Numeracy and Literacy.
“Thanks to the support of the programme, I have now applied for a full-time course at SRC this September and I am really looking forward to it.”
Applications are now open for September 2025 entry. Don’t miss the chance to take control of your future.
